UFO SIGHTINGS: Where To See UFOs In Oregon - New Map Details Sightings Across The United States!

May 16, 2015 -  OREGON, UNITED STATES
 - If the truth is out there, it all starts west of the Rockies.

That's the big takeaway from a new interactive map created by Find the Best that plots UFO sightings across the U.S., by county and per capita. And like every other western state, Oregon is a hot spot for UFO activity.

The map uses sightings reported directly to the Mutual UFO Network, an organization that gathers data without trying to prove or disprove individual sightings. In other words, take it with a few grains of salt.

According to the map, Lake County has the most activity in Oregon, with 116.9 sightings per 100,000 people, while Polk County has the lowest, at only 9.2 sightings. Multnomah County does pretty well, with 39.9 sightings, as does Clackamas County, at an even 25.

The timing couldn't be better for the McMenamins UFO Festival, Oregon's big flying saucer event, returning to McMinnville from May 14 to 17. Flying saucers will be only one topic of conversation, as experts and enthusiasts alike descend upon the town for a weekend of lectures, entertainment and the big UFO Costume Parade.

Yamhill County, home of the festival, has 25.1 UFO sightings per 100,000 people, which places it fairly low in Oregon, but puts it much higher than the national average.

Of course, if you're looking for the real hotbed of UFO sightings in the Pacific Northwest, you'll need to head across the Columbia to Klickitat County, where there have been 116.9 sightings per 100,000.

Klickitat County is home to the town of Perch Pond, where at least nine cows are supposedly aliens in disguise.

Beat that, McMinnville. - Oregon Live.
